Summary of Position: The Hyperbaric Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or program director is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to a hyperbaric patient.
Primary Job Responsibilities: Patient Care: Prepares and educates approved patients for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.# Administers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy while monitoring patient#s responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure patient safety.# Responds accordingly to symptoms of oxygen intolerance, claustrophobia, hypoglycemic reactions, decompression sickness, barotraumas or any other adverse reactions.
Chamber Maintenance: Monitor and control performance of hyperbaric chamber equipment.# Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment, according to recommendation of manufacturer and infection control policies, including inspection, quality logs, depressurization, decompression. Medical Records:
Maintain accurate documentation of treatment given with description of chamber settings, duration of treatment, patient response to procedure, and any other relevant observations made. Minimum Qualifications: CHT - Certified Hyperbaric Technician by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) or EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or certification by the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. Salary Range: $23.76 - $39.01 Pay Grade: 27 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
