Job Responsibilities

The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician is responsible for:

• Operating and maintaining the hyperbaric chamber and associated systems as prescribed by a physician

• Monitoring patients in the chamber, including recording condition and ensuring comfort during treatment

• Maintaining applicable operating, maintenance, and safety logs

• Maintaining accurate patient records

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Must be certified and/or licensed in one of the following vocations or hold a diploma from an accredited institution in one of the following professions to meet the minimum education and experience requirements: Respiratory Therapist; Physician's Assistant; EMT or Paramedic; Military Corpsman; Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse; Nurse Practitioner; Physician or Physiologist; Certified Nurse Aide,

Certified Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician

Experience

Required: Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a hyperbaric technician in healthcare.

Preferred: Wound care, hyperbaric medicine, and/or experience in emergency medicine or acute care hospital.

Certifications

Required: BLS

Must complete Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology within 90 days of hire

Preferred: Certified Hyperbaric Technologist from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology
