Under the general supervision of the burn nurse manager, the Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the physician. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber(s) and associated systems and equipment. Accompanies patients in the chamber while undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy when necessary by the medical director. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare or the diving industry is required. Wound care or hyperbaric medicine experience is preferred. Specific training and/or experience in compression chamber operations, including a demonstrated knowledge of decompression tables strongly desired. Specialized Training: Current Certification as a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or Diving Medical Technician (DMT) preferred. Certification/Licensure: Requires certification by one of the following: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) / Paramedic Chamber Technician/Operator from the Military Certified Hyperbaric Wound Specialist (CHWS) Respiratory Therapist Certified Nursing Assistant Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual is preferred. Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people. Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Qualifications

Education:
