Hygiene Assistant

Our hygiene assistant is becoming an operative assistant with our office! YAY! So we are looking for her replacement! If you enjoy having a sense of ownership over the schedule and maybe even want to be a hygienist someday...this could be the role for you!

Pay Range: Varies; to be discussed with qualified candidates. SIGN ON BONUS

Full-time (Monday - Thursday)

What does a hygiene assistant do? We would love to tell you!

The Hygiene Assistants primary responsibility is to provide support and assistance to the Hygienist and in the clinical areas of the office and help minimize unnecessary wait times in the hygiene bay while aiding in providing quality care to the patient. The Hygiene Assistant will perform a variety of responsibilities, some of which are listed below.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for their hygiene appointment ensuring their comfort

• Review patient health history

• Assist the hygienist in perio charting

• Obtaining quality x-rays and provide polishing

• Select and set up instruments, equipment, and material needed

• Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations

• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

• Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked

• Enter detailed and accurate treatment chart notes and treatment plans

• Schedule appointments and utilize hygiene reports to maintain the schedule when needed

Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

• Knowledge of dental procedures

• Good computer and typing skills

• Excellent communication and people skills

• Attention to detail

• Well-organized and reliable

• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred

• X-ray certification required.

• DANB Certification and EagleSoft experience preferred.
