The Position located in Grants Pass, OR and/or Medford, OR, in the Grants Pass Field Office.

TERM Position for up to 4 years.Conducts field survey data collection using standardized hydrologic survey protocols. Field data collection will require adequate preparation for field conditions, map and navigation preparation, operation of a 4WD vehicle, and the use of GPS field units to collect and reference data.

Individual will work successfully independently and within a team to complete mission driven objectives, mentor other crew members, and review data and ensure adherence to data collection protocols by crew members.

Completes basic analysis of natural resource and ecological monitoring data; assembles simple tabular, graphical, and/or narrative representations for monitoring data, develops preliminary recommendations, and incorporates analysis into reporting documents to inform natural resource management decisions. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

Specialized Experience GS-07: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) managing outdoor recreation related projects; (2) supervising crews or individuals performing land management type work; (3) assessing and/or performing maintenance on outdoor recreation facilities such as trailheads, campgrounds, or trail systems (4) safely riding off-road motorcycles and Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs/side-by-sides) on expert-level, narrow, rocky, highly technical trails. (Note: Your resume must clearly state this required specialized experience).

OR, Education GS-07: Successful completion of at least one year of graduate level education from an accredited college or university in a field directly related to the work of the position to include: natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources that has provided the knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in this position. OR, Combination GS-07: Successful completion of an equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education as described above, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts and your resume must clearly state this specialized experience.)

You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week.

Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".
