Job Description and Duties
The incumbent will safely perform technical work on control, communication, electrical and mechanical equipment in connection with the operation and maintenance of State Water Project generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities. Will analyze, trouble-shoot and diagnose hardware and software failures on equipment, systems and related components. Will also perform physical installation and testing of equipment, preventative maintenance, modifications, calibration, and upgrades on equipment and systems in San Joaquin Field Division.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
We are seeking candidates with excellent organizational skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills, computer knowledge in various programs including SAP, strong organizational and interpersonal skills preferred. Schematic, and blueprint experience needed. Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical system issues. Must have knowledge of electrical theory, and mechanical fundamentals; along with experience with electrical/mechanical equipment in a Utility/Industrial or Military environment. Knowledge and experience using instrumentation testing and calibration equipment highly recommended. Must be willing to work extended hours and on weekends as needed to support restoration of operations and follow safety precautions inherent in the job.
The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
