Job Description

Summary of Position

The Hydraulics Workshop Technician reports directly to the Hydraulics Workshop Supervisor and is responsible for managing and maintaining the hydraulic machines and lifting devices (H+M) shipped and stored at the Distribution Center North America (DC). They are responsible for identifying mechanical defects and assisting with repairs and general reconditioning of this material. The Hydraulics Technician provides expertise/know-how regarding the proper use of the H+M.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives H+M from subsidiaries and clients.

  • Performs reconditioning work on H+M to restore them to group standards.

  • Tracks and monitors time spent on hydraulic maintenance for charge-out purposes.

  • Able to troubleshoot, identify equipment issues, and propose workable solutions regarding H+M.

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the H+M reconditioning process and can issue appropriate instructions and checklists.

  • Manages all spare parts for H+M equipment, including ordering parts inventory as needed.

  • Manages and maintains all the tools and related equipment required for the H+M distribution.

  • Maintains the H+M database.

  • Closes out reconditioning service orders and reports on materials and labor to be charged to clients.

  • Supports DC departments on all related topics to H+M materials.

Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions:

  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned, including participating in company committees/teams.

  • Assists in ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment.

  • Complies with all corporate policies and business practices.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Technical Proficiency

  • High school diploma required. Certificate or Associate's Degree preferred.

  • 2- 5 years of recent Doka-related experience in operations or logistics preferred.

  • Manages time and multiple tasks effectively and is capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills including an excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing). Knowledge of German and Spanish language is a plus.

  • Thorough understanding of Hydraulics and electrics as well as strong working knowledge of the hydraulic test bench

  • Able to navigate the DOPI program and locate information necessary to perform effectively in the role

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Basic understanding of Excel and MS Project

  • Basic knowledge of Doka's proprietary inventory management system (Discos) and warehouse management system (Prolag World)

  • Able to work as an organized team player in a results-driven, fast-paced environment.

  • Open-minded and able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

  • Ensures compliance with all required Doka Quality Control standards
