What You Will Do at ODM:

Classification: Health Services Policy Supervisor (PN 20087372 & 20097827)

Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking experienced analytics professionals to supervise two units within ODM's Strategic Analytics Section. These positions will be cross disciplinary and provide the right candidates with the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the development of new processes that inform the health care of millions of Ohioans. The two positions available are:

Dashboard Operations Supervisor (PN 20087372) -

  • supervising assigned analytic staff

  • directing the preparation of required data reports regarding federal and state requirements

  • developing provider profiles, performance measurements statistics, and disease management indicators as a part of the Medicaid Decision Support System/Data Warehouse

  • maintaining operation of the existing Tableau dashboards and providing insight to analytic leadership

  • assisting the development of interactive public and private Medicaid dashboard to support multiple functional areas within the department, for monitoring policy implementation, and to increase transparency for constituents

  • assisting in Data Governance activities to proactively monitor data quality through data visualization tools

Reporting & Predictive Analytics Supervisor (PN 20097827) -

  • supervising assigned analytic staff

  • directing the preparation of data reports regarding federal and state requirements

  • developing provider profiles, performance measurement statistics, and disease management indicators as a part of the Medicaid Decision Support System/Data Warehouse

  • assisting in Data Governance activities within the agency and supervising testing and implementation of machine learning (ML) in ODM's analytic environment

  • attending policy meetings to assist in the development of metrics, reports, and statistical models to aid policy decision making while automating standardized reporting tasks

  • coordinating with analytic leadership to form statistics workgroups and collaborating with other sister areas to move Medicaid reporting from descriptive toward predictive analytics

Completion of undergraduate core coursework & 12 mos. exp. in one of following: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field; 2 yrs. exp. in health services research &/or health policy analysis; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in use of computer programs/applications with emphasis on relational data bases, use of computer hardware, software used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis, graphics presentation & word processing; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques, management or acting as leader of project team; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.
