Senior Accountant

Are you a detail-oriented individual seeking an exciting new role? If so, we are looking for an energetic accounting professional with analytical capabilities to join our Hybrid Business Finance team.

Deloitte is aggressively acquiring, developing and scaling alternative business models such as Intellectual Property-based ("IP-Based") businesses to complement the traditional services offerings across the core functions of consulting, advisory, tax and audit. IP-based businesses offer client's technology, content, data or analytic solutions with recurring subscription revenue business models. The combination of IP-based businesses with Deloitte's traditional service offerings are referred to as "Hybrids". The Hybrid Finance team is a relatively new team that owns the centralized transactional activity of Order to Cash and Record to Report processes across all alternative business models at Deloitte.

Work you'll do

The Senior Accountant in Hybrid Finance performs accounting and analysis functions and coordinates the period-end and year-end closes, journal entries, and regular accounting reconciliations. The Senior Accountant is responsible for developing, preparing and delivering complete and accurate financial statements for multiple Hybrid Business units. Good communication skills are required to analyze and present monthly financial reports and metrics to senior leadership. The Senior Accountant interacts with the broader finance team to ensure timely and accurate transactions to recognize revenue for Hybrid businesses, and will be involved in documenting processes, procedures and implementing best practices across the group. The Senior Accountant also may be involved in new acquisitions to document accounting processes and integrate the acquisition into the Hybrid reporting packages for stakeholders and leadership.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Prepares monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing financial and account information and distributes financial reports to senior leadership

  • Performs period-end and year-end close processes, books journal entries and provides appropriate detail level review and analysis

  • Conducts regular process/procedure and controls reviews to ensure that financial results are complete and accurate

  • Analyzes financial information to recommend or develop procedures; provides strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems

  • Identifies and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Reconciles various general ledger accounts including deferred revenues

  • Calculates and records Capitalize Software in accordance with GAAP

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience with entire Microsoft Office Suite, including expert Excel Skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel on a limited basis as needed

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline preferred; Minimum of 2-4 years' experience handling month end close and financial reporting responsibilities

Preferred:

  • CPA or CPA candidate a plus

  • Experience with SAP

  • Knowledge of MS AO Reporting or Tableau
