Hybrid Cloud Engineer
This role is a very wide combination of different technical skills and customer focus skills with the goal to support incidents and implement customer change requests within the given SLA, working with the highest possible level of quality in a very hybrid cloud environment of a primary European institution.
The complexity of support will vary from more simple tasks in the customer datacenter to a number of more complex where candidate needs to understand deeply the customer solution. Part of this role is to communicate effectively by phone or email; to confirm incident or change closure/completion or during the troubleshooting and implementation of the task.
Implement manage and maintain virtual and cloud platforms
Implement manage and maintain complex non-standard storage environments
Provide Level 2/3 Support of customer solutions and platforms
Manage and maintain backup systems functionalities
Perform administration of Windows and Linux for customer hosting solutions, mainly focused on performing requested changes and incident troubleshooting
Testing of proposed changes on customer Hosting solutions and subsequent implementation of changes
Prompt identification of issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality.
Pro-active diagnoses and fix of technical issues arising during provision of, and changes to, complex Hosting solutions.
Pro-active escalation, follow-through and liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality. Creation of contingency plans to minimize such risks.
Work in cooperation with other engineering teams deploying and developing new platforms.
Assist in maintaining operational and customer technical documents, processes and work instructions.
Perform technical audits as required to verify customer and platform standards requirements are met and maintained;
Perform on-going performance tuning, resource optimization and capacity management as required;
Actively participate in technical discussions and maintains a high profile providing expert advice as needed
Candidates shall cover the criteria below:
At least 3-5 years of proven experience deploying, configuring and managing virtual and/or cloud infrastructures
Proven experience in VMware vSphere environment
Proven Scripting and automation experience
Excellent awareness on Linux technologies and integration
Good knowledge and experience with Windows administration.
Proven experience in installation, management and maintenance of DELL hardware, servers and blades
Technical understanding of other datacenter components (Firewalls, Router, Switch)
Fluent English language skills a must.
Candidates should cover at least 50% of the criteria below:
Previous experience with cloud management tools like vRealize is highly desirable.
Previous experience with Oracle Secure Backup
Proven experience in installation, management and maintenance of tape archives (Oracle, Spectra, Qstar)
Excellent knowledge of storage technologies (NetApp FAS and AFF platforms is a must, SolidFire, EMC and others a plus);
Proven experience in installation, management, maintenance of monitoring tools (Solarwinds)
Experience in public/ private cloud technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
Experience with database platforms (postgress, mysql) is advantageous
