HVAC Trades Helpers on the Camp Lejeune team come from areas of eastern NC including Jacksonville, Richlands, Swansboro and Morehead City. Changing air filters on a variety of commercial HVAC equipment is the primary responsibility of the filter crew. You may also assist workers and journeyman by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment. The ideal EMI HVAC Trades Helper performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.

Salary

$19.58/ hr. plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities

  • Dismantles devices to access and remove the dirty filters, using hand and/or power tools
  • Installs air filters on various equipment on a scheduled basis; quarterly, semi-monthly, monthly
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Some knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in heating and cooling equipment and machinery
  • Works effectively in a team
  • Follows verbal instructions and adheres to policies and procedures
  • Adaptable and flexible in work situations
  • Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment.
    • Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid DL complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • OVERTIME- nights and weekends
  • U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.
