The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for providing timely and quality repairs of customers' products (Heat Pumps, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Gas and Oil Furnaces & Boilers) while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Additionally, this position promotes and sells additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the Company.


EPA Certification Required

  • Complete knowledge of all tools, equipment and materials used to perform services on Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) units
  • Ability to communicate, read, understand and apply written text of a technical nature in order to answer questions, solve problems, make decisions or complete job tasks
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing, with co-workers, managers and consumers
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed in geographical areas outside area of residence, both in-state (most of the time) and out-of-state (occasionally)
  • Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including significant overtime as needed.
  • Ability to follow appropriate industry specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, reach, climb and lift/carry up to 75 lbs
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Years of Related HVAC Experience: 3-4 Years
  • Driver's License Required: Yes
  • Travel

VIEW JOBS 11/18/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-16T00:00 Reporting to the Senior Building and Grounds/HVAC Manager, the HVAC Installation & Repair Technician will develop, maintain and secure the Museum's buildings and grounds and to support its collections, education and research functions. Responsible for maintaining a continuous, 24-hour/365 day operation of the buildings located on the Museum's campus by providing troubleshooting and maintenance skills for a wide variety of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment. Provides a stable museum environment with strict parameters of temperature and humidity levels through the use of specialized skills and computer based Building Automation System, with ?On Call?? responsibilities for first response to problems or emergencies that occur after normal business hours that could potentially disrupt or endanger the Museum's operation, patrons, staff, or the art collections. Acts as the Museum's on-site coordinator with contractors to correct problems and make emergency repairs after normal working hours, when required. NOTE: There are two (2) positions in total for hire. This is a reopened position. Minimum Qualifications Considerable knowledge of various types of heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment, centrifugal chillers, low pressure steam boilers, and support equipment. Demonstrated knowledge of temperature and humidity control and computerized building automation systems. Previous experience in the use of HVAC diagnostic equipment and tools required. Ability to make decisions on repairs and provide information to the Senior Building and Grounds/HVAC Manager concerning repairs and maintenance. Ability to trouble shoot air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment problems and repair with minor assistance is required. Ability to work with little to no supervision is required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of nights, weekends, holidays and on-call availability should emergent matters occur during overnight hours is required. Preferred Qualifications Certificate of completion from an accredited school in an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program. Considerable specialty work experience in the field of commercial/industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Certification from an EPA approved school for refrigerant handling (CFC Card) is required. Valid Driver's License is required. HVAC Journeyman license is required. Master HVAC license is preferred.
