UL is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team in Melville, NY. Under general supervision, the facilities technician performs fabrication, installation, maintenance and, major repairs. Maintains the operation of all building equipment, accessories, and components.
Performs fabrication, installation, maintenance, and major repairs. Maintains the operation of all building equipment, accessories, and components.Responsible for various duties in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation, mechanical, chemical, electrical disciplines and pollution control.
Assists in training and supervision of others in the use of building equipment and components.
Responsible for input in the preparation of the annual budget for repairs and/or replacement of building equipment and/or components.
Supervises building maintenance in the absence of management.
Performs other duties as directed.
Some University education (Equivalent to an Associate degree) in a related discipline (preferred) plus generally 8 years of directly related experience.
Ability to perform fabrication, installation, maintenance and major repairs to building equipment, accessories and components.
Ability to assist in training and supervision of others in the use of building equipment and components.
