The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment. Identifies maintenance risks on equipment and diagnosis electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems ensuring that units run smoothly at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Install, diagnose, service and repair heating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
Test and calibrate equipment and adjust system settings as needed.
Perform preventative and replacement maintenance program for all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
Maintains tools, equipment and supplies in safe, orderly condition.
Install and make routine repairs to electrical wiring, switches, outlets, fixtures and motors.
Responsible for all follow up work in conjunction with assignments.
Assist with other duties in the Maintenance Department as needed.
Obeys all federal, state and local laws.
Requirements
Sufficient mathematical skills to compute measurements and estimate material and supplies.
Knowledge of City, County and State codes concerning HVAC systems.
Knowledge of principals of combustion steam generation, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and system balancing.
Knowledge of electricity and electronics as applied to control and operation of HVAC installations.
Ability to read and understand drawings, diagrams, schematics, manuals and blueprints.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, crawl and stoop for extended periods of time.
Carry and lift 100 lbs.
Works in indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure/ Certification: NC HVAC license
Experience: 7 years' experience in commercial units
