SUMMARY:# The HVAC Technician is responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining Industrial, Commercial # Residential HVAC systems, including but not limited to: gas/electric or steam heating, boilers, cooling equipment, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of steam, chilled or hot water, refrigeration equipment, air handlers, variable frequency drive units, pumps, motors, and air compressors.# Responsible for working with a building control systems involving electric and pneumatic air, computerized building management system, and computerized maintenance management systems.# This position takes call and is on-call after hours during emergencies and inclement weather. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred. Experience: Minimum one (1) year of related work experience in hospital maintenance + two (2) years of computer related diagnostic experience.
Certification: Must Have and hold in good standing an active and up to date Arkansas HVAC/R registrant license. Must obtain and hold an EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification within one year of start date. License: Must possess a current Arkansas driver#s license and a driving record that meets and maintains requirements set forth by the hospital insurance carrier.# Obtain and hold an Arkansas Boiler license within 1 year from start of boiler training.# Obtain and hold an Arkansas Hospital plumbers license within 5 years of date of hire/position transfer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend 2 hours or more in front of a computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily.
Ability to stand and walk, manipulate and stand on stepladders between 4-foot and 12-foot tall for up to an hour at a time. Bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.
Required to drive facility vehicles in completion of job responsibilities. Conditions may be unpleasant at times due to dust, dirt, heat and cold. Required to wear appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
Work setting, within a hospital environment, all departments and boiler room, physical plant, hospital grounds and construction area and outpatient clinic locations. May be exposed to infectious agents or inclement weather.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Maintenance staff personnel scheduled as needed per department shift requirements.
Required to be on call. Approximately 20% of time spent performing office work and 80% of time is spent performing physical duties, such as walking the facility and labor.
