Hvac Technician

The HVAC Control Technician is responsible for supporting the HVAC group with maintenance, repair and problem analysis of all facility heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and control systems including critical loads such as the Call Center, Data Center and Computer / UPS rooms. The HVAC Control Tech uses various control, diagnostic and programming tools to maximize the efficiency of interior environmental control systems, production processes and energy conservation equipment and provides technical assistance and expertise to H&D engineering and contractors on all projects involving HVAC systems.

• Responds to all HVAC trouble calls and makes necessary repairs as required.

• Responds to HVAC trouble calls 24/7, when required, in business-critical areas such as the Call Center, Data Center and Computer / UPS rooms and resolves as necessary.

• Uses various control, diagnostic and programming tools to maximize the efficiency of interior environmental control systems, production processes and energy conservation equipment and establishes baseline programs for operational set points and parameters.

• Demonstrates the ability to use or learn Johnson Control METASYS, Signal, XPSI, MS Office and various other software for HVAC control and data acquisition applications.

• Demonstrates analytical and methodical problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

• Demonstrates the basic understanding of HVAC electrical, electronic and pneumatic control systems and their function and design.

• Demonstrates the ability to learn complex electrical and mechanical test equipment.

• Demonstrates the ability to learn electrical circuits when necessary, using proper safety equipment and procedures.

• Performs random daily and detailed monthly Freon leak inspections using portable detection equipment and maintains accurate and current required compliance documentation.

• Performs regular inspections and performs PM maintenance/repair procedures on all HVAC related equipment.

• Demonstrates the ability to learn to maintains computerized equipment maintenance records and operating logs on all HVAC equipment including operating, temperature and filter information.

• Demonstrates proficiency with hand tools, power tools, shop tools and construction tools and methods.

• Provides technical assistance and expertise to H&D engineering and outside design engineers and contractors, on all projects involving design and installation of new HVAC equipment and systems.

• Ability to maintain good communications with office/company area occupants regarding seasonal comfort zones and other HVAC requirements.
