Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Administration is actively recruiting HVAC Tech for the General Services Division (GSD). This position is necessary to help the Facilities Operations and Maintenance (FOAM) section of the General Services Division (GSD) manage a very heavy and complex industrial HVAC workload for ADOA managed space. This managed space consists of more than 2 million square feet located in complexes in the phoenix area and Tucson. The HVAC Tech will be expected to explore and seek out any opportunities for improving equipment performance and longevity and must be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. This position will be required to work day/night shift and some weekends.
Job Duties:
Troubleshoots, maintains, inspects, modifies and repairs industrial heating, ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment including DX and hydronic systems and components, various types of chillers, cooling towers, fans and fan motors, pumps, VFD, VRV systems, motors, electric controls and associated safety, over-current and other equipment protection devices.
Implements and facilitates the Energy Management System (EMS) and HVAC controls and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ); Installed, adjusts, calibrates, troubleshoots, and adjusts computer based EMS program for proper HVAC comfort and energy management control.
Provides additional support for the general maintenance responsibilities of the operation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
Electrical, mechanical and HVAC/Stationary Engineering systems Heat load, chiller, and DX system calculations
Energy management systems such as Andover, Navar, Siemens, and Tridium
Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and ladder diagrams.
Current HVAC construction principles, methods and techniques of CMMS systems
Skilled in:
Estimating time and material requirements for work projects.
Cost analysis of repairing existing equipment versus replacement with new equipment
Installation, repair and maintenance of all HVAC systems and assignments common to the trade
Ability to:
Diagnose problems/malfunctions in a wide variety of cooling/refrigeration equipment
Inspect, service, repair and install a wide variety of cooling/refrigeration equipment
Effective oral and written communications
Maintain records and prepare reports
Selective Preference(s):
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Certification for refrigerant recovery (EPA Universal Certification)
Valid Arizona driver's license
