Pay Range: $25-30/hour

Job Summary

The HVAC Technician-I is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This entry-level position

provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and training under the supervision of more experienced technicians. The HVAC Technician-I will perform basic tasks, follow instructions, and adhere to safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Assist in the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and wiring.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting HVAC

systems.

  • Replace filters, belts, and other components as needed.

Repairs:

  • Identify and diagnose basic malfunctions in HVAC systems.

  • Assist in the repair and replacement of faulty components under supervision.

  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to ensure system efficiency.

Inspections:

  • Conduct inspections of HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning.

  • Record and report findings to senior technicians or supervisors.

  • Check for refrigerant leaks and proper system pressure levels.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to HVAC systems.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers professionally and courteously.

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide basic information about HVAC system care.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their systems.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in on-the-job training and formal education programs.

  • Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in HVAC technology.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve skills.

Documentation:

  • Complete work orders and service reports accurately.

  • Maintain records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.

  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of a certified HVAC training program or apprenticeship.

  • Some experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair is preferred but not required.

  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems and components.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants (preferred).

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in various environments, including commercial, and industrial settings.

  • Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and heights.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

  • Requires travel to different dispensaries and locations throughout assigned area, particularly during peak times.

Job Requirements

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.

  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.

  • Ability to use different hand and power tools

  • Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or local Police Department.
