What you will do

Apprentices primarily perform HVAC mechanical equipment service support, some electrical and controls work, and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, at the respective apprentice rate of pay, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer.

Location: Will primarily support long-term maintenance and service projects at Fort McNair and Fort Myer (military experience not required). Company vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and all necessary tools are provided

Shift: First Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Union: Local 602 or 486 (employee's choice)

How you will do it

Troubleshoots and resolves problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.

What we look for

Required

1.High School Diploma or equivalent

2.Familiarity with HVAC equipment

3.Ability to perform general building maintenance

4.Self starter with ability to work independently

5.Current driver's license

6.Willingness to supplement on-the-job training with training provided through the apprenticeship program

7.Good verbal and written communication skills

8.U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance and any other worksite specific badges. (This will involve a background/character, work experience, education, financial/credit and a criminal history records check).

Preferred

1.EPA Refrigeration certification a plus

Additionally, this position promotes and sells additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the Company. JOB SCOPE: Responsible for improving and maintaining high and acceptable performance metrics and productivity goals; achieving targeted quality scores; and maintaining targeted material, labor and service costs as set forth by management. Job Requirements JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs timely and quality repairs in resolving customer complaints and provides direction and mentors Preventative Maintenance Check Technician as applicable. * Diagnoses and repairs appliances and equipment in the customer's home and gives the customer an accurate estimate of the cost of repair if applicable. * Maintains high level of customer satisfaction through efficient and timely customer resolution. * Follows the Value Added Services and Products (VASP) Process (i.e., selling extended warranties, water filters, generating customer interest in new Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems and other Home Improvement items as appropriate) by effectively communicating the benefits to the customer, when applicable. * Maintains the highest level of service standards and communicates openly with District Technical Manager to assist as needed with resolving customer issues. * Maintains truck stock inventory and ensures maintenance schedules are within the Company guidelines (i.e., wash truck weekly, oil changes), and ensures tools and equipment are in safe operating condition. * Completes all Break/Fix Technician training elements within required timeframes. * Uses basic tools or instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair or test various products and clearly articulates complex HVAC issues in simplified terms to ensure customer understanding * Possesses the ability to independently replaces compressors, evaporator coils, condenser coils, and full condensing units.
