What you will do

Apprentices shall perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, at the respective apprentice rate of pay, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer. Troubleshoots and resolves problems.

Responds to basic warranty calls. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

Familiarity with HVAC equipment

EPA Refrigeration certification a plus

The ability to perform general building maintenance

Self starter with ability to work independently

This position requires a current driver's license

Willingness to supplement on-the-job training with training provided through the apprenticeship program

Good verbal and written communication skills

VIEW JOBS 10/20/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-18T00:00 What you will do Completes assigned maintenance and service duties, inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment, primarily with chillers and cooling towers. Troubleshoots and resolves HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to service & warranty calls. Inspect, diagnose, service and repair mechanical systems using a variety of tools and instruments. Perform specified preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment. Perform prescribed non-destructive tests; collect and deliver samples for analysis. Location: Primarily based at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, but may help support some additional sites locally. Company vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and all necessary tools are provided How you will do it Must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and have a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC mechanical equipment service industry. May be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to their special skill. What we look for Required 1. 5+ years of HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience. 2. Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants and chiller equipment; operational & service knowledge. 3. Good verbal and written communication skills. 4. U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoE security clearance and any other worksite specific badges. (This will involve a background/character, work experience, education, financial/credit and a criminal history records check). Preferred 1. Chiller maintenance experience, preferably with York equipment 2. Mechanical Journeyman License 3.
