As our HVAC and Refrigeration Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as refrigeration units in our store. You'll ensure that our customers and team members enjoy a comfortable shopping experience and that our organic products stay fresh and delicious.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in our store, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts, to ensure the longevity and efficiency of our systems.

  • Monitor and inspect HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, providing recommendations for improvements and upgrades.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service calls, and provide regular reports to management.

  • Collaborate with in-house engineering to support HVAC modifications related to existing equipment, replacement, or new installations.

  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to other team members as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent.

  • 1+ year experience as an HVAC and refrigeration technician, with a willingness to continue education in the field.

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.

  • Working knowledge of boiler systems and ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels, and other mechanical devices.

  • Ability to read and understand service manuals and related documents.

  • Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs, as well as work in confined spaces and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with customers, team members, and management in a professional and friendly manner.
