Job Description Job Description Title HVAC Mechanic Classification Hourly (CBA) Union Job Reports to Project Manager Summary/Objective Excelous, LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic. This position is located in Springfield, VA at the Franconia Franconia Warehouse Complex located in Springfield VA.

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the HVAC mechanic will be working in an environment in which safety, environmental, and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to corporate and plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the company's quality policy is required.

The HVAC Mechanic must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems, and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers, and other employees. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in his/her specialty qualification.

The qualified HVAC will be designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems with a working knowledge of large commercial type HVAC units. Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment such as window, central, and zone AC units, HV units, steam and hot water unit heaters/boilers, exhaust fans, and ice machines. In addition, VAV boxes with reheat, fume hoods- hot and chilled water circulating pumps, air dryers, compressors, and computer room HVAC units along with other associated equipment.

Ethical Practice. Organization Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in the field/location of assignment. Self-performance is critical to success.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to bend or stand as necessary, with considerable amounts of walking carrying small tool for trade and or supply materials.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:00PM great hours overtime (subject to modification with prior notice based on additional tasks required including overtime) Able to pass a basic security clearance. Travel None Required Education and Experience Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation or related field.

Must have valid driver’s license Must possess, or be able to obtain, a GSA/DHS Security Clearance. · Shall possess one or more of following certifications: · Certification from a vocational-technical school in HVAC refrigeration technology · CFC Certification · Journeyman HVAC where applicable Preferred Education and Experience · Understanding and working Knowledge of BAS · Knowledge of or ability to work with hand/power tools including those in sheet metal fabrication · Journeyman HVAC with completion of an apprenticeship in heating, ventilation and air conditioning who has passed the journeyman HVAC examination .
