This position is based in Raleigh, NC, but our company operates nationally, particularly in large regional malls.

As the HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will maintain chillers, cooling towers, miscellaneous associated pumps, valves, control devices, air handler units, split systems, and package units. Your duties may be completed as part of a team project or an individual task. This is a multiple-trade position, and you must have the ability to learn and become proficient in many other trades. You will be expected to inspect and document elevators/escalators daily, as well as fire sprinkler systems, doors, chiller plant operation, etc.

To thrive, you should have:

  • Two-year HVAC Diploma, Industrial Maintenance diploma, or HVAC certificate

  • 3 years of practical HVAC experience

  • General Tool knowledge and use

  • Desire to learn multiple trade disciplines

  • Computer literacy is a must.

  • A professional image at all times

  • Ability to communicate with all parties (customers, tenants, management, and other staff) with a high level of professionalism

Responsibilities of the HVAC Maintenance Technician

  • Crabtree Valley Mall:
  • Inspect, repair, replace, and calibrate commercial HVAC equipment, devices, etc.

  • Utilize the ability to monitor Computer Controlled Building Management System

  • Repair electrical, 120V-480V, and low voltage controls for numerous types of equipment.

  • Maintain, clean, and replace Fire Safety Devices.

  • Inspect elevators and escalators daily and inform the supervisor of current safety issues and necessary repairs; may make repairs where code allows.

  • Inspect fire sprinkler riser rooms and provide emergency response due to unplanned sprinkler flow. Repairs may be made to the system: Gauge replacement, escutcheon replacement, flow test, drain and fill, etc.

  • Inspect, repair, and replace various door components, etc.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by cleaning, properly storing tools, chemicals, etc., and lockout/tag out policy.

  • Inspect, clean, and make emergency repairs to single-ply roof system

  • Perform miscellaneous other duties not explicitly detailed. Assist other departments, tenants, and management.

  • Maintain multiple computer-controlled lighting systems, video and audio components, mall directories, visual marketing walls, and traffic count systems.
