We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC knowledge to join our Glendale, CA team!
ACCO has reached $1 billion in 2017 which means were growing. With the title, Design Engineer, you will be working under the direction of the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for delivery of Engineering design/build project work, from conceptual design through drawing completion.
SO WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Assist with engineering design project planning (i.e., conceptual design through construction drawing development)
Complete code required energy compliance and LEED certifications
Conduct load calculations, energy analysis, economic analysis, design and layout of equipment, duct and piping system design
Complete applications engineering including psychometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems
Assist with coordination of design and installation with Project Management, Construction and Service departments
Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem-solving
Computer 2D and 3D modeling of HVAC systems utilizing the latest modeling software
Assist or complete project estimating, proposal writing, and client interaction
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Executive(s)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A PART OF THIS ALL STAR TEAM?
BS in Mechanical Engineering / Environment Engineering or Construction Management
Prior intern experience with HVAC and/or engineering consulting preferred but not required
Excellent understanding of Engineering fundamentals
Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar drafting software)
Ability to interact effectively with others in team environments
High sense of integrity
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-starter and strong desire to succeed
Individual must be a responsible person, able to multi-task and regular attendance is required, Monday through Friday with one hour for lunch. Eight hours per day is required.
