HVAC Counter Sales Specialist - Cranbury, NJ

Johnstone Supply- New Jersey is a family owned HVAC/R wholesale-distributor established in 1987. Currently there are six branch locations in Northern and Central New Jersey, we are now in the process of opening two additional branches (one in Cranbury, NJ). We're looking for individuals who love keeping up with the latest technology trends and can apply them to the constantly growing HVAC industry.

You will succeed in the Counter Sales Specialist role if you:

  • Promote a one-stop-shop to our customers. While it's true, we are a HVAC/R wholesale supplier, however, Johnstone Supply is More Than a Supply House. More than anything, we are a customer service company and we want our customers to know they have a partner in us.

  • Recommend and order products for customers, emphasizing quality and utility.

  • Communicate effectively to build strong, long term, trusting relationships with customers.

  • Resolve commonly-encountered technical problems; respond to incoming sales calls; make outgoing customer sales or service calls; and addresses customer complaints.

  • Maintain knowledge of HVAC/R fundamentals and product lines by knowing the function of most products we carry, and where and how they are used; knowing the vendors we carry and their respective lines.

  • Processes customer transactions by researching, entering and printing quotes; processing warranties, balances cash drawers; create credit invoices; process pick/pack orders; and process will-call back-order notifications.

  • Ensure desired level of profitability is obtained by consistently following the pricing structure established for the store.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED

  • Requires a Technical Diploma in HVAC/R or work experience of at least two years in the HVAC/R field.

  • Requires two years in a wholesale environment in the HVAC/R industry.

  • Experience must include front counter experience of waiting on customers.

  • Must be a customer-oriented individual with the ability and skills to meet, greet and service customers. Also, is a team player able to achieve the goals and objectives as mandated by the Branch Manager.

  • Must be able to comprehend business math calculations, run a point of sale terminal, research HVAC/R items and help prepare required sales and customer reports.

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and employees and write and read reports and instructions.

It is designed to provide necessary support for scientists. The Technician will ensure laboratory activities meet/exceed technical, safety and efficiency goals and will assist scientists in providing samples that meet customer requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform and interpret analytical testing. * Batch with minor modifications of base, screen flavors/colors, and adjust formula accordingly in Wildware. * Understand and perform basic math conversions. * Adhere to ISO procedures daily * Set-up informal sensory triangle tastings and conduct stability tests under supervision. * Solid knowledge of AS400 and LEAD for researching information and generating shipments. * Generate data for demo sheets * Screening and selection of flavor options for development. Key Technical Skills and Knowledge: * High School Diploma or higher with minimum 1-3 years' experience. * Basic Mathematical Skills - The Individual is comfortable with basic calculations, ratio scaling, fraction proportioning, and percentage calculations. * Basic Scientific Skills - The Individual is comfortable with common scientific terminology, basic chemistry terms and concepts, basic human physiology. * Computer Skills - The Individual is comfortable with computer usage, internet access, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and Email ( or similar program) usage, along with ability to create, edit, manipulate WORD and EXCEL files. * Analytical Skills - The Individual is comfortable with basic instrument calibration, usage and reporting skills specifically but not limited to pH, Brix, spectrophotometers, TA. * Problem Solving Skills - The Individual is capable of problem/root cause identification, alternative solution consideration and ultimate recommendation and selection of workable solution.
