Utilities Technician

(Stationary Engineer/HVAC Mechanic/ Ammonia Refrigeration Technician)

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Utilities Technician to work at our processing facility in Avon, NY. Ideal candidates must be safety and quality-orientated and be willing to work in a team-orientated, fast-paced work environment. Under the direction of the Facility Maintenance and Engineering Manager, the Ammonia Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the plant ammonia/refrigeration, compressed air, process steam, steam plant heating, steam condensate, hot/cold water, HVAC, fire protection.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This job requires flexibility to work first, second, or third shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must have a working knowledge of refrigeration, steam generation, compressed air, and HVAC fields.

  • Must be physically capable of wearing a gas mask and self-contained breathing apparatus.

  • Must be capable of completing all lifting (100 lbs.), climbing, and other physical demands.

  • CFC Certification - Type I & Type II: (Minimum) as defined by EPA.

  • Steam/Refrigeration License preferred.

  • A $.75 shift differential for those who are working on the second shift.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Sunday (3 Shift 24 Hour Operation, variable based on business needs and assigned work)

Hourly range: 32.68-37.12 (depending on experience and certifications)

  • A $1.00 shift differential for those who work on the third shift.
