Human Services Caseworker

The Molinari Juvenile Shelter (MJS) is a short-term residential program for boys and girls ages 10 to 17 who are in crisis and need temporary placement. About This Role:

In this role, the Human Services Caseworker will guide the program in community living/group processes and track progress by engaging residents in conversation, and group interactions (structured and casual). The Human Services Caseworker will ensure the safety and security of the juveniles and the facility at all times. You will communicate program details and information to internal and external stakeholders (parents/guardians, court representatives, parole officers etc.). Must be able to document all processes, therapeutic contacts and behavioral disciplines/incidents.

In addition, the incumbent, you facilitate groups to process daily goals, activities and tasks, and engage residents in the change process through structured interventions. To be successful you will need to be able to maintain a high level of organization, professionalism and customer service

MINIMUM EDUCATION,TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in the human services field; or bachelor's degree in any field accompanied by a minimum of two years appropriate and related experience in a human services related area.

PREFERENCES:

• Experienceworking with detained juveniles in a secure facility.

• Experience performing case management.

• Experience leading educational and pro-social groups

• Experience teaching life skills, problem solving, anger management and decision making

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

75 hours every two weeks, 7.5-hour shifts, the nature of this work may require shift work on evenings, weekends and holidays, & inclement weather.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

All MJS employees must pass a pre-employment physical before a final offer will be extended with Department of Social Services. All DSS staff members are required to provide emergency human services work in the event of an emergency disaster.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE:$69,186.00 - $95,579.50 Annually
