A career in our People in Deals practice, within People and Organisation Consulting services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients reset their talent strategies and deliver extraordinary business results through their people. We focus on evaluating and managing their unique challenges so our clients can maximise their return on the overall investment in human capital. You'll gain a tremendous depth of expertise in all aspects of human capital, including creating sustainable value through people culture and change, designing compensation and retirement strategies, and improving human capital operations. Our team helps our clients with all human capital aspects of buying, selling or listing businesses both domestically and internationally. You'll be assisting the team focus on Human Resources due diligence, pre- and post-close planning, and post deal implementation and integration.

Responsibilities

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above

  • Be involved in the financial management of clients

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen

  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges

  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects

  • Train, coach, and supervise staff

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Preferred skills

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Reviewing and advising on labor relations and multi-employer pension issues, especially as they relate to a transaction or other strategic corporate decision;

  • Advising clients on a variety of HR legal and tax issues in HR strategy, plan design, compliance, and communications;

  • Addressing and resolving client issues in order to complete successful transactions, including the smooth assimilation of employees and the implementation of new benefit plans;

  • Identifying and analyzing complex financial, legal, regulatory, and business issues, and providing appropriate recommendations, often with time sensitivity, including financial modeling and transactional analytics, tax planning, and structuring and strategy formulation;

  • Preparing of presentations for audiences on hot topics;

  • Demonstrating clear and concise drafting; and,

  • Collaborating and effective teaming.

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Union negotiations and strategic planning around participation in multiemployer pension plans; and,

  • ERISA and executive compensation.

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in automation & digitization in a professional services environment including the following areas:

  • Innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions;

  • Working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients; and,

  • Utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in alternative fee arrangements, including the use of pricing tools, to provide a point of view on pricing strategies.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as tax technical business advisor, including developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new services and doing so with a "One Firm" service mindset and having familiarity with a CRM system is preferred.

  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in automation & digitization in a professional services environment including the following areas:

  • Innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions;

  • Working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients; and,

  • Utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.
