Are you starting your senior year in the fall?
Jubitz Corporation in North Portland is seeking an enthusiastic & highly motivated Human Resources Intern for the Summer Term. This position will be full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May or June 2019.
The Human Resources Intern will participate, and gain real-world experience, in the following areas:
Employment Law and Company Policies: Assist with review and revision of key company policies including employee handbook polices, business ethics policies, safety policies, etc.
HR and Regulatory Compliance: Participate in audits of company compliance obligations including I-9 forms, personnel files, etc. Evaluate and make recommendations for compliance tracking systems.
Talent Sourcing and Talent Selection: Identify and engage with best methods for talent sourcing, review incoming resumes/job applications to help match applicants with employment opportunities, assist with phone screens, interviews, and pre-hire check processes.
Complete other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED required.
Prior job experience in a service or transportation related position is desired.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
This Internship will involve research and content writing to include policies and job descriptions. Strong writing skills are required.
Excellent communication skills including writing, listening, speaking; strong command of the English language is required.
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at one time through excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Computer/software aptitude at an intermediate-to-advanced level in a variety of software programs including Microsoft Office programs, and business-related software applications.
Possess strong ethical values and an ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability and eagerness to learn and participate in a variety of human resources activities.
Friendly, team-oriented work style; able to easily build relationships and collaborate with others.
Professional demeanor and approach in handling work tasks and interactions.
