Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to inquiries on insurance such as dental insurance, health and life insurance, and retirement and other benefits as needed.

  • Audit or input records for Personnel/Payroll system processing including verifying salaries for life insurance and other benefit deductions.

  • Provide assistance to employees in connection with payroll deductions, insurance, and/or other benefits provided by the College.

  • Responsible for all data entry of all benefit deductions and verification of benefits with other HR staff.

  • Assist with employment letters/contracts for all full-time and part-time employees for Personnel/Payroll System. Maintain the Personnel System for Payroll.

  • Assist in the process of monitoring terminal leave payout for retirees (DROP, RIP, etc.) in accordance with Board rules.

  • Monitor Alternative Social Security Program for adjunct instructors to ensure compliance with Board rules, IRS rules,

  • etc.

  • Complete all insurance billings with vendors and the state as needed each month.

  • Will be trained as back up to payroll in the event of that person's absence.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources

  • SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process records, documents, correspondence, and other materials of a sensitive nature.

  • Process personnel documents requiring in-depth knowledge of college procedures, State Board rules, Florida retirement rules for sufficiency of data, checks for accuracy and follow-up.

  • Process all part-time instructional and supplementary contracts to include verifying for accuracy and assuring all are returned in a timely manner.

  • Be familiar with health insurance benefits and other benefits as offered by current insurance provider.

  • PHI Level: Full access to PHI (in compliance with HIPAA rules)

  • As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum two (2) years college course work in business/accounting.

  • Minimum three (3) years work experience in personnel functions.

  • Experience in Windows-based PC software to include Word, Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Human Resources at the community college level.

  • Accounting experience

  • Payroll experience

  • Willingness and ability to effectively greet the public both in person and via telephone.

Additional Information:

Classification: Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour

Hours: Up to 29 hours per week

Location: Niceville Campus

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
