Job Summary

Assist and support management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues. Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.

Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues. Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification. Maintain applicant flow, drug screen, orientation and transfer request logs.

Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into Human Resources Information Systems. Assist with orientation of new employees. Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies and standards.

Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9's). Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary. Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property. Create and maintain filing systems.

Generate Human Resources data reports as necessary Answer phone calls and record messages. Create and type office correspondence using computer. Serve as Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams.

Train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, information systems, etc. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

This position will be responsible for partnering with restaurant operations on frontline hiring strategies, particularly in challenging staffing markets. The position will also partner with Operations Human Resources Managers (OHRMs) on targeted support in creating and developing recruitment strategies to source restaurant management candidates in all locations across the country, with particular emphasis on challenging staffing markets. The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing company career pages across the internet and internet job board postings and engage in social media recruitment strategies, including supporting employer brand strategy and key messages to bring awareness and attract talent, researching and recommending innovative recruitment methods, to communicate job vacancies in specialized markets. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate and implement a social media recruitment strategy to drive specific talent for key markets and build Employer Brand awareness with creative, cost efficient methods. * Support Employer Brand strategy and key messaging by monitoring and managing the online presence of the company, both internal and external, including all social media platforms, such as, Company's Career Website, Darden Intranet, Facebook (including Business Manager), Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn, Career Builder, Broadbean, and future platforms. This includes the creation and distribution of online content (organic and paid) aimed to attract and retain frontline and management candidates/team members, as well as, researching and recommending innovative recruitment methods and enhancements to current processes. * Partner with Brand Operations and recruitment leaders to develop effective regional and/or brand specific recruitment campaigns/events, particularly in highly competitive hiring markets, to include Open Houses and New Restaurant Openings. * Create and maintain effective recruitment collateral. * Partner with OHRMs to provide targeted support for active and passive recruitment of restaurant management talent, and perform as required, pre-screening interviews of candidates exercising independent judgment as to whether or not to continue candidate in hiring process. * Develop and maintain strong relationships across all stakeholders and provide professional talent acquisition services to existing operations leaders and external vendors. Responsible to assist in the sourcing of new and potential partners to strengthen recruitment and hiring practices. * Analyze, monitor and report on recruiting metrics, effectiveness of social media campaigns (including ROI) and key drivers used to influence talent acquisition strategies around hiring source, MIT Compensation and applicant flow. Evaluates effectiveness of external recruiting sources and makes recommendations for improvement and/or to discontinue services. * Assist in all special projects and other duties as assigned. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: * Advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook * Competent in IBM Kenexa/Brassring (Darden Applicant Tracking System (TAS)) * Competent in navigation and use of Social Media sites, such as, Facebook (including Business Manager), Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and future platforms REQUIRED EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or 7+ years equivalent work experience in restaurant management or in human resources (preferably in talent acquisition) OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of 3-5 years recruiting experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality organization * Minimum of 2 years' expertise in social media candidate engagement and sourcing skills * Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders with an emphasis on guest focus * Demonstrates self-initiative and results orientation * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work well in a team environment with the ability to communicate under pressure and use tact when responding to applicants * Ability to work independently, as well as with others, and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment * Ability to identify, analyze, and utilize resources to complete job accountabilities * Ability to effectively handle high volume of requests under strict deadlines * Ability to maintain composure in stressful environments * Willingness to continue to learn and/or be flexible to new ideas/approaches * 0-5% - travel between local restaurants PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * PHR or SPHR Certified * Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration * Bilingual (Spanish) * Restaurant Management experience, especially at Darden Restaurants, a plus Darden Restaurants, Inc.
