Some of what you'll do:
Perform full-cycle recruitment services for the Department working with hiring managers and supervisors to assess, strategize and support their hiring requirements.
Lead recruitment and staffing for the Incident Command Structure (ICS).
Work across ICS branches to determine staffing needs and coordination of onboarding.
Provide initial screening of applicants to assure they meet the minimum job qualifications, the hiring manager's desired qualifications.
Meet with new or existing employees to assure that pre-employment/status change processes and documents are in order.
Learn about all aspects of the HR services as part of a customer-centric HR team in order to provide a wide array of HR assistance to department employees.
Display a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and follow-through.
Advise and guide hiring managers on the new recruitment process.
Assist in revising and implementing HR policies, procedures, processes, and forms that support the departments Race, Equity & Inclusion policy;
Assist HR team with streamlining the recruitment process along with operationalizing our recruiting policies to be an anti-racist organization.

Who should apply
Individuals who have an Associates Degree with a focus on human resources, business or related field. And three years of relevant experience, which adequately illustrates the attainment of knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies of the job. Equivalent education and experience may be substituted.
Ability to successfully pass a background investigation.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment.
Your office will be set up to provide personal safety, including social distancing, screening, sanitation, disinfection, and masks.
The potential for dealing with dissatisfied or angry customers exists, requiring skills in conflict resolution.

When public health responds to an emergency you may be assigned duties that are outside your regular job description. This may involve responding at any time, including nights and weekends, with possible deployment to locations other than the department.
