Our dynamic and award-winning Human Resources Department is seeking an HR Specialist to be part of a collaborative, innovative team. The HR Specialist will work extensively in our Tyler Munis HRIS. Once trained, this position will work remotely approximately 50%-75% of the time.
The Human Resources Team is made of up 14 staff including Risk Management and takes great pride in serving employees, departments, and citizens. This position may require occasional travel to outlying areas of the county including Williams, Tuba City, Page, and Fredonia.

Nature of Work:
Under general supervision performs human resources administrative work of moderate difficulty in a variety of human resource functions.

Works with Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to perform financial processing
Reviews problems in Tyler Munissoftware, checks payroll processing work for accuracy
Coordinates advertisements, develops ads, posts and pay bills, assists with employment offer letters
Provides support and conducts training for the performance evaluation process
Performs Classification/Compensation Research including market data and response to salary surveys
Compiles statistics & trends for performance measures
Coordinates Wellness Tracking including eligibility, database management, and notices
Coordinates HR staff training & development including training subscriptions and memberships
Provides leave management support for Risk Management and Benefits
Supports Employee Growth and Development (EGAD) committee and program including scheduling classes, advertising and marketing, scheduling facilitators, agendas, materials, purchase orders, and invoices
Coordinates New Employee Orientation I & New Employee Orientation II
Coordinates Employee Service Recognition Program
Provides recruitment support, screens and matrix applications
Compiles reports and statistical data
Participates in special projects as assigned
May assist at reception desk
Support all functional areas
Maintains high standards of confidentiality
Essential functions include but are not limited to: working with and around others; working with frequent interruptions; repetitive (hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder) motion for computer work; visual acuity (near and far) for computer work; color vision for working with computer screen; hearing and speech for ordinary conversations and training; touch for computer work. Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in human resources, public administration or related field and 2 years of human resources administrative experience; OR, any combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.
The ideal candidateis a supportive team member who has excellent Excel, data entry, account reconciliation, and organizational skills, loves numbers, customer service skills, is detail-oriented, works well with multiple deadlines, can work effectively with interruptions and meeting noise, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration or a related field; proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher software; experience with highly detailed data entry and data entry/verification; experience with Personnel Action Form entry/verification and HR change processing/verification; experience in Benefits, Payroll and Classification/Compensation; working in a fast-paced and high volume department; and coordination of training and employee programs; strong experience in Excel and reporting; excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking, prioritization abilities, and strong customer service skills preferred; enjoys research, data analysis and problem-solving; strong HRIS experience.
