POSITION: Human Resources Specialist
LOCATION: Central Office Admin Bldg
JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for creating, processing and maintaining information pertaining to certified, classified and/or substitute staff. The job function has a considerable impact within and outside of the Human Resources Department, therefore requiring the use of sound judgement in dealing with all stakeholders.
Associate's Degree or higher in Human Resources, Office Administration, Business or related field preferred.
Minimum of three years experience in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work with personal and confidential information.
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities.
Ability to work independently, and as a team member.
Ability to collaborate effectively with district and school personnel, the general public and work with diverse groups of people.
Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive.
Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
Provide superior customer service; greet visitors, determine the nature of business and refer to the appropriate colleague or department; answer employment questions via email, voice mail, or in person based on knowledge of the organization and district policies and procedures.
Assist with Certified/Classified Personnel Information (CPI) process.
Assist with payroll inquiries from administrators, principals, employees and applicants.
Manage classified employees' onboarding paperwork and employment files.
Request and process certifications for applicable classified staff.
Perform various general clerical tasks required, including entering data in the computer, preparing reports and correspondence, copying documents, collating documents, filing, and answering the telephone.
Receive, review, prepare and/or submit various records and reports including employment verification reports, employment packages, personnel action forms, memos and correspondence.
Ability to learn software packages used by HR such as NextGen, AESOP, Applitrack and Etrieve.
Make ID badges for employees of the school district.
Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals.
Advise and direct all internal and external customers on the routes to obtaining Georgia certification and ensure that all paraprofessional obtain certification.
Create and distribute various confidential correspondence.
Collaborate with Benefits, Payroll and Finance, as needed, to ensure an efficient workflow process.
Maintain information on the Personnel Action Log on google drive.
Properly handle complaints and grievances.
Assist with recruitment efforts.
Able to perform routine physical activities such as light lifting, bending and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Director.
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
SALARY RANGE: 12mths. Pay grade 11.
