The PALACE Acquire Program offers you a permanent position upon completion of your formal training plan. As a PALACE Acquire Intern you will experience both personal and professional growth while dealing effectively and ethically with change, complexity, and problem solving. The program offers a 2 or 3 year formal training plan with eligibility for yearly salary increases. Promotions and salary increases are based upon your successful performance and supervisory approval.

Responsibilities

Any individual who completed all requirements for an associate, bachelor, master, professional, or doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two years; meets the basic requirement to apply for the Recent Graduate Program;

OR

Any veteran released or discharged from active duty within the previous two years, but due to a military service obligation, was precluded from applying for a recent graduate position during any portion of the two-year eligibility period following completion of applicable degree, and not more than six years have transpired since completing the requirements for the degree.

Appointments" under the Recent Graduates Program may be for 1 or

  • 2 years depending on the position. After completing the 1 or 2-year period as a Recent Graduate, you maybe noncompetitively converted into a term or permanent position and placed on a "career or career-conditional appointment. However, service in a Pathways Recent Graduate Program confers no right to further employment in the competitive

service.

AFTER PROGRAM COMPLETION:

You will be outplaced from the PAQ program after successful completion of your formal training program. Outplacement may be to a position in the local community area where you received your PAQ training or to an Air Force Installation in another geographic location within the Continental USA.

  • Perform a variety of highly structured, entry-level human resources work designed to develop broader and more in-depth knowledge and skill to perform higher lever assignments

  • Knowledge of basic principles and practices of human resources

  • Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical, and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and formulate solutions to problems

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing

Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on:

(1) Class Standing

  • Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses;

OR

(2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.)

  • Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.;

(3) Honor Society Membership

A. Best Qualified: Master's or higher and seeking a degree in human resources, personnel management or related area

B. Highly Qualified: Bachelor's degree with overall GPA 2.95 or higher

C. Qualified: Associate's degree AND one year (12 months) specialized work experience in providing support for Human Resources (HR) specialists involved in using HR information systems; in delivering HR services to military personnel; and in classification, recruitment and placement, employee benefits, human resource development, performance management, and employee and labor management relations. Process and document HR actions for a wide variety of employee categories that involve different forms, different authorities, different action codes, and different regulatory authorities, or additional pay systems. Obtain missing data from HR files or the appropriate office; assist employees in preparing paperwork related to HR actions; review finished forms for completeness and adequacy; contact individual employees or supervisors by telephone to resolve questions before processing final actions; provide information on HR systems, processes and procedures; and/or provide brochures, applications and other HR documents to employees. This experience MUST be equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in Federal service, which could have been obtained in the private or public sectors.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
