The Manager of the Human Resources Service Center will be responsible for leading Service Center employees, planning, administering and overseeing the activities of the HR Service Center Department. This includes managing staff members as well as developing and administering department goals, objectives, policies, procedures and budgets at the Tier 0 and Tier 1 level. Ensures high levels of customer service are met and that employees' questions and concerns are resolved in a timely, professional manner.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience in Human Resources or Business Administration


  • 3 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in leadership and/or project management 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in working with Service Now or other case/knowledge management software

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in leading a call center 2 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in HR operational role, specifically leading a call center

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be primarily responsible for reviewing and processing employee change request within the HRIS system, while effectively collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy with each approved request. This individual will also serve as a back-up to the subject matter expert in the areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits, and recruiting when the need arises. The HR Generalist will ensure HR compliance through their oversight of the Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) and Sex Offender auditing process. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review and process employee change request within the HRIS system; * Accurately complete and coordinate the MVR annual audit process in a timely manner; * Accurately complete and coordinate the communication process for the Sex Offender check procedure; * Assist the Sr. Director of HR with addressing employee relations issues and concerns, as needed; * Serve as a back-up to the Director of Compensation to assist with addressing compensation inquiries, as needed; * Assist the Director of Compensation with developing job descriptions in partnership with program managers, as needed; * Work collaboratively with the Director of Compensation by assisting with the oversight of minimum wage labor law compliance throughout the calendar year; * Assist with ensuring employment and HR compliance within Bethany's global division, while focusing on cross-cultural awareness; * Maintain the internal HR quality checklist to ensure branch compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements; * Oversee and maintain all internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and communicate changes to all internal HR staff during staff meetings; * Process and submit Verification of Employment (VOE) requests in a timely manner; * Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to employment law; * Complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's level degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college; * At least three (3) years of experience in Human Resources with at least one (1) year of employee relations experience; * Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, a plus; * Prior experience addressing employee relations concerns and employee changes, preferred; * Demonstrated knowledge of Title VII, ADA, and FLSA, strongly preferred; * Must have a demonstrated passion for customer service and highly organized; * Must possess a strong attention to detail with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; * Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills; * Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks; * Exercise a high level of confidentiality; * Work well under pressure and adaptable to change; * Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and HRIS systems (UltiPro preferred); * Highly motivated and self-managed; * Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions; * Active motor vehicle license and a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage; * Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; * Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment. #LI-DNP Bethany Christian Services Grand Rapids MI
