Human Resources - Senior Benefits Analyst
The Benefits Team of Gannett's People Resources Division designs, implements and manages programs critical to the health and well-being of the Company's most critical resource, our employees. We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Benefits Analyst that offers exposure to a wide range of programs in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for a self-starter who can balance day-to-day, hands-on responsibilities with a role in strategic, multi-year planning. This position will have a strong focus on health and wellness programs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Independently manage the ongoing delivery of benefit programs, as assigned, with a particular emphasis on health and wellness programs
Review various benefit programs to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and plan documents, educate and inform team leaders and managers on legislative updates, best practices and business impacts as they occur
Work with third party vendors and consultants, coordinating service contracting and ensuring ongoing performance standards are being met
Contribute to the development, recommendation and implementation of future plan designs and assist with strategic benefits planning
Key contributor to all aspects of Open Enrollment - preparation, system testing, vendor management, communications, education, presentations and execution of plans
Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver and design the benefits section of the New Hire Orientation and benefits portal.
Create, coordinate and execute communication campaigns and other required notices for employees (e.g. SPDs, SMMs) and other stakeholders on benefit programs
Resolve and/or research complex employee benefit issues that are escalated by internal employee services staff, HR business partners and vendors
Ability to present and explain benefit initiatives to internal stakeholders and partners such as Human Resource Business Partners
Skilled in reporting and data analytics to support and produce critical metrics used in effective decision-making around benefit design and administration
Bachelor's degree and approximately 5-7 years of experience in Benefits
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and project management skills
Must be proficient with the use of current Microsoft Office tools, with a primary focus on Excel
Prior experience with ACA compliance and reporting preferred
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
Ability to work well with various groups and individuals across the organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
SHRM or CEBS preferred
Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus
