POSITION SUMMARY: The EHS Coordinator oversees the development and implementation of health and safety programs within the site. They ensure the facility is in compliance with corporate, federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Develops, reviews and maintains safety practices and procedures.
2.Ensures facility employees understand government and corporate safety regulations and standards.
3.Facilitate and provide guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations.
4.Coordinates the development and maintenance of emergency preparedness, response and rescue
operations.
5.Works to develop safety procedures where none exist, and coordinates with leadership on the
effective delivery of safety and compliance training
6.Manage safety committee; facilitate meetings, form agenda, and keep notes
7.Oversees the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the
insurance carrier
8.Maintains inventory of chemicals and their SDS.
9.Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program using established goals and make
recommendations, and implement corrective action(s) based on industry standards and best
practices.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Serve as a safety/compliance liaison with outside organizations (i.e. local fire department,
insurance company, etc.)
2.Performs other work-related duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3-5 years working in a distribution or manufacturing site with of at least 300 people in an in EHS leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.
Demonstrated ability to interact with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels both inside and outside the organization
Must be autonomous and have the ability to work effectively without direct instruction
Understanding of worker's compensation and liability insurance claims.
Experience conducting safety audits, job safety analysis, accident investigations, analyzing data and managing OSHA 300 log. Experience with programs including: hazardous and non-hazardous waste, chemical management, hazard communication, and forklift safety background.
Experience developing, organizing, and conducting presentations and training programs.
Excellent skills in written and oral communication.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Ceridian
