Schaefer, a nationally recognized and growing structural engineering firm, is seeking a human resources recruiter.
The Recruiter will manage the full cycle of the hiring process (sourcing, selecting, selling + starting), partner with key business leaders to determine key performance responsibilities and maintain a solid talent pipeline. The position will add additional value through onboarding, partnerships for our co-op intern, campus ambassador + mentoring programs, as well as HR generalist duties. This role is a feeder position and expectation is ambition to grow within the firm.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage the recruiting cycle as it aligns with our brand, culture, and key differentiators to attract and secure top candidates in all physical offices + remote locations
Partner with HR Director to develop recruitment + retention strategies + processes
Ability to propose + effectively manage a budget
Develop, track, and analyze metrics and regularly report out hiring outcomes to leadership
Provide exceptional job seeker + candidate experience that attracts and engages
Develop and manage relationships with key external partners such as recruiting agencies, universities, and clients to build and maintain a pipeline of talent
Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leaders in matters of selection, onboarding, retention and performance oversite of new employees. Provide training and coaching to ensure compliance and consistent hiring practices
Execute new and innovative methods to attract a diverse group of candidates to our firm through our employment brand and focused job boards, social media, video recruiting and our firms employee referral program
Utilize applicant tracking system to maintain accurate and timely documentation on all recruiting and hiring activities, in compliance with EEO and OFCCP regulations
Focus on continually improving workflows, while proposing and implementing improvements as needed. Ensure consistent execution of recruiting processes.
Assist with the development of job descriptions, Key Performance Responsibilities/Key Performance Indicators and compensation models with HR Director + President
Lead the continuous development of the onboarding experience plan in partnership with respective functional leaders
Lead the campus ambassador program for pipeline of intern and entry level hiring
Partner with co-op/intern facilitators to manage our co-op/intern program
Facilitate our Mentoring Program relative to training for new mentors as part of the onboarding experience, recognition
Work closely with management and employees to maintain solid work relationships, continue to build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Manage our Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) and employment related compliance requirements, i.e., employment postings for multi-state employer, etc.
Policy + procedures support/development, including ownership for our employee handbook.
Administrator for HRIS system, reporting and analysis of data
Minimum Position Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
2+ years recruiting/HR experience
Experience + proficiency in HRIS software. Paylocity + Clear Company are a plus
Fluency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Expertise in driving a strong employment brand
Demonstrated ability to treat confidential matters with appropriate discretion and privacy
Advanced communication skills; speaks articulately and writes with a polished vocabulary
Strong sense of initiative, independent problem-solving and follow thru
Exceptional customer/client/candidate experience skills
Relationship-builder both internally + externally
Focus on continuous improvement
Ability to develop processes + deliver effective training
Experience analyzing data, understanding trends, and developing and articulating recommendations for action based on the data analysis
Familiarity with a variety of federal and state laws including EEO, AAP and interviewing techniques
Membership and affiliations with professional organizations related to recruiting and/or human resources preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This work is typically done within an office environment and is eligible for flexible work arrangements.
Normal core working hours will be 9 am 4 pm est, but may vary to include interviewing in different time zones and after hours professional networking and outreach activities and events
Overtime work may be required based on work deadlines.
Occasional physical activity involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 30 lbs
Occasional local and out of state travel required, including travel to career fairs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
