Human Resource Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Recruiter is responsible for coordinating and supporting the hourly recruiting function for Great Northern Corporation - Laminations division. This role is responsible for providing a high level of Customer Service, Administrative Support, and project coordination for the Human Resources Manager and Operation Managers. This position will utilize superior communications skills and professionalism to coordinate the recruiting process from start to finish. Duties include coordinating all aspects of recruiting, selection and/or hiring of new hourly employees; developing relationships to improve recruiting and retention effectiveness; completing special projects. All job responsibilities are to be performed in strict adherence with the Company's Mission Statement and Core Values and in accordance with established standards for external customers as well as internal customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates hourly recruitment needs with appropriate hiring Managers.
Works with Management to define job qualifications.
Develops hourly job postings (internal & external).
Complies with legal aspect and ethical aspects of recruitment and selection.
Coordinates the hourly interviewing process, including scheduling virtual/telephone and in-person interviews along with scheduling interview rooms and other logistical details.
Reviews job applications and resumes that are submitted by applicants, along with the hiring manager.
Does initial screening of hourly applicants.
Provides follow-up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status via phone and email.
Works directly with recruiting agencies.
Schedules, administers and organizes skills tests and interviews with Industrial Psychologist for direct hires for hourly personnel.
Networks within the community and participates in appropriate job fairs.
Utilizes the Internet as a tool for recruitment.
Writes job advertisements and posts with appropriate venues.
Aids Human Resources Manager in conducting background checks and new hire administrative duties.
Performs a variety of miscellaneous job-related tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time by Human Resource Manager or Management Representative.
Maintains frequent contact with internal hiring Managers and external vendors and employment agencies.
Responds to Management inquiries on status of recruitment.
May require periodic travel regarding attending job fairs.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of related recruiting experience.
Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Requires the ability to practically apply knowledge in legal selection techniques.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, nd professionalism throughout the entire recruiting process.
Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
Works well under pressure and time deadlines.
STARTING SALARY
$23.00 to $24.00/hour based on experience.
HOURS
Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm with an unpaid ½ hour lunch or 8:00am to 5:00pm with an hour unpaid lunch. Some flexibility in schedule may be required based on business needs.
