The mission of the International Institute of New England (IINE) is to create opportunities for refugees and immigrants to succeed through resettlement, education, career advancement and pathways to citizenship. One of the oldest and largest human services organizations for New Americans in the region, IINE serves more than 4,000 people each year in Boston and Lowell, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire. Overview
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Human Resources Project Manager will support the strategic leadership and direction for the organizations human resource goals. Projects to complete will encompass a multitude of areas in human resources, including but not limited to compensation and benefits, manager training and development, employee relations, EEOC, DEIB, leave of absence, and human resources information systems (HRIS).
Working closely with the Talent Acquisitions Specialist, HR Coordinator, and managers, the Human Resources Project Manager is responsible for supporting the CHRO in developing and implementing new trainings and programs to meet the needs of employees and the organization. This position is to support project management and cover during leave of absences in the HR department.
The Human Resources Project Manager will work on a hybrid schedule with their primary location in Lowell but will travel regularly to all IINE sites.
This position is temporary and contingent on funding through October 31, 2024.

Responsibilities
The Human Resources Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department in achieving its goals and transforming all projects department goals into executable plans, trainings, and materials. The HR Project Manager works closely with the CHRO as needed on strategic HR initiatives that include performance management, workforce planning, employee learning and development, and diversity.
Some of the responsibilities in this role include:
Support the CHRO in managing the day-to-day tasks for each of the departments ongoing goals and projects
Collaborate with the CHRO to prepare reports based on the needs of the organization
Support the maintenance of DEI initiatives through trainings, materials, and events
Update and manage the leave of absence policies and procedures for staff
Act as a liaison between employee and benefits administration to provide consultation and problem resolution
Collaborate and support with scheduling and delivering HR-sponsored trainings
Establish trust and maintain professional relationships with all levels of employees
Attend interdepartmental meetings with other managers
Maintain and stay up to date with legislation changes and updates as applicable to HR processes
Support and attend networking events and career fairs on an as-need basis
Support the exit interview process, including conducting exit interviews and facilitating employment separation procedures
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong organizational, strategic planning, project management, and communication skills
Strong knowledge of labor relations laws and regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, ADP, and ClearCompany preferred
Strong public speaking skills and ability to present and train large groups of employees at a time
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once with a sense of urgency, positive attitude, and efficiency skills
Demonstrated commitment to IINEs humanitarian mission
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or other related fields preferred
Minimum of 3 years HR Generalist experience required
Experience working in non-profit or human services sector preferred
1-3 years of project management experience preferred
HR Certification preferred
Work Environment Conditions
Frequent interruptions from employees throughout the day
Required office work environment, including exposure to bright, overhead office lighting as well as continuous work on a computer
Ability to travel to each site required
Requires occasional work outside of regular working hours to attend career fairs and community events
Travel between sites and the ability to visit multiple sites in one day on a rare occasion
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Frequent typing and use of phone
Occasional bending or squatting, reaching overhead, and reaching at or below should level.
Occasional pushing or pulling of materials/supplies and occasional walking up/downstairs at recruitment or staff events.
Seldomly must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. For example, in the case of lifting printer paper and/or materials/supplies for recruitment or staff events.
Covid-19 Policy
IINE does not require applicants for most positions to show proof of Covid-19. Some federal contracts, however, require IINE staff to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination, and some immigration status adjustments, such as a Green Card, require proof of Covid-19 vaccination as well. Consequently, for some positions, IINE staff may be required to show proof of vaccination, and in others, IINE staff will be supporting clients who are required by law to have proof of vaccination in order to adjust their status in the United States.
