The internship program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga the opportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions.

Our internships are full-time positions (40 hrs/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday - Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution, or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. Candidates who do not meet this guideline will not be considered. This position will start in August and end in December 2024. Applications for later terms will not be accepted at this time.

Summary

This role will support Talent Acquisition team with orientation and onboarding activities of new hires

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities for direct and indirect employee's introduction to the company

  • Project Management

  • Organize meetings and resources

  • Communicate with and between departments

  • Gather and distribute information

  • Create presentations

  • Daily administrative work functions

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of study Human Resources Management or other related field

Skills

  • Ability to create presentations and comfortable speaking to groups of people

  • Communication skills; both interpersonal and written

  • Ability to work on multiple activities concurrently

  • Strong systemic thinking skills and problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Ability to work and complete tasks according to schedule both in a team environment and independently

  • Problem solving; being able to solve complex problems effectively and efficiently

Scope and Magnitude

Junior $18/hour

Senior $20/hour

Recent Graduate $24/hour

Master's Student $27/hour

2 days of paid time off per term

Financial assistance for relocation/housing not provided.
