Ensures company compliance with all employment related laws.
Recruits, interviews, and screens applicants. Processes all necessary paperwork for new team members to fill vacant positions.
Plans and conducts new team member orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Processes payroll and provides training for backup.
Designs, verifies and maintains current job descriptions. Responsible for job postings.
Interprets company policies to team members and ensures compliance with safety, food safety and GMP regulations.
Keeps record of insurance coverage, 401(k) and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations. Maintains record keeping software and team member files. Tracks paid time off, administers leaves of absence (FML/Military/Personal).
Interprets wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Monitors department budget objectives and insures that cost effective methods are being utilized.
Assists Team Leaders with performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc. Prepares team member separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews.
Administers Dawn Handbook policies and procedures.
Provides information and represents Dawn at employment related hearings.
Point of contact for temporary agencies, monitors cost and quality of service.
Involvement in Community/Wellness activities and foster positive relationship.
Conducts annual benefit open enrollment meetings and annual Workplace Harassment training including all other required training.
Coach supervisors and managers relating to building and maintaining employee relations.
Ensures that all human resources related functions comply with Dawn's Quality System.
Supports all outside audits for compliance.

BA Degree in Business or related experience (in human resources) of eight (8) years or a combination of education and experience. Human Resources generalist experience preferred
Five years' management experience preferred
Good verbal and written communication skills required
Problem-solving skills essential
Computer skills essential
Must be able to handle several tasks at one time and correctly prioritize conflicting, time-sensitive tasks
