HR Manager Reports to: Director of Human Resources Position Summary: The HR Manager oversees HR operations, focusing on payroll administration, compliance, talent flow, onboarding/offboarding, and benefits.
Working closely with the HR Director, the HR Manager ensures accurate payroll processing, effective talent management, and adherence to employment laws while fostering employee engagement and a positive work culture. This role provides leadership to the HR Assistant and/or Benefits Coordinator, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth HR functions. Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration: Lead payroll processing through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate and timely payments. Maintain and audit time and attendance systems, records, and payroll-related tax filings.
Generate payroll reports and oversee deductions, compliance, and tax filings. Collaborate with the HR Director to streamline payroll processes and ensure accuracy. Benefits Administration:
Administer group benefits programs (Medical, Dental, 401(k), FSA, HSA, COBRA, etc.), including annual open enrollment. Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related regulations. Audit monthly insurance premiums and manage COBRA eligibility and processing.
Talent Management: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including job requisitions, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding. Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring for managerial and professional roles.
Develop and deliver training programs and implement performance management initiatives. Collaborate with leadership to identify talent gaps and recommend strategies for retention and development. Compliance and Employee Relations:
Ensure compliance with FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and other employment laws. Regularly review and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to align with legal and organizational requirements. Administer leave requests under FMLA and other applicable leave laws.
Investigate workplace issues and recommend corrective actions to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Leadership and Reporting: Provide leadership and guidance to the HR Assistant and/or Benefits Coordinator, delegating tasks as necessary.
Participate in safety committee meetings and manage risk and compliance procedures. Generate reports and analytics for audits, HR strategy, and employee engagement initiatives. Collaborate with the HR Director and leadership to develop and implement HR programs and policies that align with organizational goals.
Required Skills/Abilities: Experience: 5-7 years of HR management experience, with a strong focus on payroll, compliance, and benefits administration. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Excel, and HRIS systems. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of employment laws and HR best practices. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts.
Leadership: Proven ability to delegate tasks effectively and lead teams toward successful outcomes. Language: Bilingual in Spanish (preferred). Personal Attributes: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
