Position Title: Human Resources Manager

General Description: At Prologue, Inc. Human Resources is focused on the needs of the organization and anticipating as well as supporting its employees. Prologue, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with 75 - 90 employees. Human Resources is currently a department of 1. Candidate must be a confident self- starter. The HR Manager will align HR initiatives and functions with business objectives and needs. The HR Manager will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as full-cycle talent acquisition, onboarding and new hire orientation, compensation and benefits, personnel policies and compliance with employment regulations and laws, in addition to general HR advisory services to both management and staff. This position reports to President/CEO. Schedule: Full time: Monday - Friday in the office.

Required Education, Knowledge and Skill Abilities to Perform Essential Job Functions: Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field. The ideal candidate would be a senior level HR Manager with at least 7 years' experience as an HR Manager or higher. Must possess an HR Certification: SHRM-SCP preferred, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP will be considered. Strong talent acquisition background, possess superior communication and interpersonal skills. Has a resourceful problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and best practices. Current on all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Possess working knowledge of HRIS, and ability to learn new platforms as needed.

Summary of Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead in the development and execution of human resource policies and procedures, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations

  • Implement talent acquisition, talent management, promotion and termination procedures

  • Run full-cycle talent acquisition to include: advertising available positions, screening applicants, conducting reference checks, background screenings, sharing of talent acquisition best practices with hiring managers, and maintenance of applicant files as required by state and federal regulations

  • Maintain personnel files in accordance with Prologue policy, state and federal regulations

  • Work with Management to promote and uphold ethical work standards

  • Work with Management to promote a caring culture and positive work environment

  • Embody an open-door policy that promotes resolution of employee relations issues

  • Coordinate and administer Benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, disability, open enrollment, and EAP resources

  • Offer guidance regarding compensation best practices while maintaining a uniform Compensation Plan

  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements

  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation and exit interviews, including entering data into the HRIS and auditing for accuracy and compliance

  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to both management and employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change and all other employee relations matters

  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, review, and update of the Employee Handbook, Employee Directory and Organizational Chart, and contribute to the development of employee related policies

  • Maintain compliance with CARF standards governing accreditation

  • Utilize computer systems to: disseminate information to stakeholders (internal & external), to record, confirm and verify Time & Attendance, to complete annual training, and to monitor staff training

  • Perform other duties as assigned
