HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

The Human Resources Manager provides overall Human Resources services, administers and implements policies and programs, and represents the HR function within the Elk Grove Village plants. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the HR function and to administer programs, procedures and standardization processes that align to company goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

  • Work closely with plant leadership team in the identification, investigation, and resolution of employee relations issues.

  • Develop, administer and communicate corporate policies including fair and equitable disciplinary practices.

  • Coach and counsel management and supervisors with regard to employee relations issues.

  • Design and execute timely recruitment and staffing strategies for full-time and part-time employees, including: sourcing resumes and applications, pre-screening, background checks, postings, interviewing, new hire orientation, and maintaining all appropriate files.

  • Track, report, and analyze staffing data and develop and implement retention plans.

  • Lead plant staff in the efficient delivery of HR initiatives aligned with Corporate strategy including, but not limited to compensation & benefits administration, training and professional development, performance management process, succession planning, employee relations and employment practices within the site.

  • Follow up on Safety Incident investigations and conduct Safety walk-throughs weekly in the plant.

  • Administer performance evaluation program to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

  • Maintain compliance of all HR records including employment, performance evaluation, training, and personal documents to verify HR is prepared for company audits at all times

  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Counsel and discipline employees and provide other employee services as needed.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field of study

  • 5 7 Years Human Resources experience

  • Demonstrated Human Resources generalist knowledge required, specifically including employment law

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

  • Human Resources Certification preferred but not required

JOB SUMMARY The Human Resources Manager oversees all aspects of Human Resources Management including policies and procedures, recruitment, hiring, compensation management, benefits administration, labor law compliance, and employee relations. This role is responsible for multiple sites in the midwest, primarily in the Chicagoland area. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Partners with business leaders to evaluate current business challenges; develops and executes strategy to address key issues as they relate to HR. * Oversees the performance management evaluation process; advises managers in the area of performance management as an ongoing process. * Ensures consistency and compliance of all hiring procedures to corporate policies & procedures; ensures all required documentation is complete and forwarded to the proper destination. * Implements all applicable corporate policies and ensures compliance. * Reviews turnover and administers appropriate plans to implement changes. * Develops and administers an effective recruitment program, interviews personnel for available positions and provides guidance to management on the interview and new hire process. * Conducts trainings for staff as needed. * Maintains HR records for the business unit. * Facilitates benefits process for new hires and during open enrollment. * Facilitates recognition programs. * Partners with Safety, Risk and Operations on handling workers compensation claims and works with site leadership and third party vendor on leave of absence management. * Oversees the performance management evaluation process; advises managers in the area of performance management as an ongoing process. * Completes other projects as assigned by the Director Human Resources * Will be the HR lead for over 400 employees across multiple facilities Education and Experience * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or equivalent is required. * At least five (5) years Human Resources Management experience is required. * Master's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Buiness or equivalent is preferred. * Previous experience in Manufacturing or Logistics industry is preferred Certification and Licenses * PHR or SPHR preferred Languages and Communication Skills * Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. * Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees. Other Skills/Experience * Knowledge of Human Resources Management including legal/regulatory compliance, current theories and practices; and up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws governing human resources is required. * Must have the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. * A high degree of flexibility to meet multiple/changing priorities and business demands. * Ability to manage multiple business units in multiple locations. * Must be skilled at communicating effectively with employees, management and business community and must have the ability to make formal presentations to all groups of employees. * Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in demanding environments with tight deadlines Travel * This role will require about 20% travel, primarily local CEVA operates in a multicultural, global environment and is a richly diverse organization operating seamlessly as one company.
