Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager with Gardner Denver - Nash. This position is located in Bentleyville, PA and supports the HR needs of this facility, field sales, and additional oversight for small service organizations across the United States affiliated with the Nash organization.


  • Recruitment, Retention, & Diversity: Ensures employee selection, transfer, discipline and/or termination decisions are justified, documented, and compliant with Company, legal and regulatory requirements. Recruits and manages onboarding process including advertising, screening, interviewing, pre-employment testing, new hire paperwork, orientation, HRIS entry. Develops and maintains appropriate reports documenting compliance. Works with plant and/or division management to develop programs to retain staff.

  • Compensation and Benefits: Administers the various plans in accordance with division and corporate guidelines and assists employees with benefits issues, acting as conduit between staff and TPA. Manages local/regional salary surveys, notifying corporate if salaries induce a significant geographic shift. Assists employees with benefits issues, new hire benefits training, annual open enrollment process, wellness on-site annual screenings, etc.

  • Training and Development: Performs needs analysis and develops training modules to meet the goals of the plant and its personnel. Facilitates external training as needed. Performs training and/or enlists other SMEs within the organization to assist with specialized or technical training.

  • Employee/Labor Relations: Develops relationships with all levels of staff to facilitate dispute resolution. Works with management to appropriately handle corrective action. Must have good working knowledge of challenges and needs of an operations/plant environment.

  • Policies and Procedures: Ensures corporate policies and procedures are executed in the organization. May create new or revised local policies and/or procedures. Works with senior and production management to ensure implementation of new or revised policies are appropriately disseminated through training via written, verbal or taped presentations and discussions.

  • Health, Safety and Loss Prevention: Partners with EHS leader to develop, recommend, promote, and monitor the implementation of wellness programs, safety programs and activities in order to minimize or eliminate losses attributable to personal or work-related injuries, occupational illnesses, or property damage.

  • Community Relations: Maintains involvement in local communities in order to keep abreast of social, technical and economic events that could impact the plant and its workforce.

  • Management: Develops and mentors a competent workforce through recruitment, training, coaching and establishing goals and objectives that drive the organization.

  • HRIS: Maintains HRIS database, payroll submissions, maintains HR files.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Master's degree and SHRM certification preferred.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a Human Resource leadership role

  • Fluent in recruitment of exempt and non-exempt workforce, development and presentation of training modules, compensation principles and benefits policies

  • Ability to manage labor and/or employee relations issues in order to reach consensus between parties

  • Proficient at developing relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • SAP experience preferred

The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:1. Attend all Management Development Program (MDP) training classes.2. Learn about all of the possible situations that can occur in a retail store to prepare for the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager position.3. Assist the Store Manager with the operation of the retail store and complete his/her duties in his/her absence.4. Enforce all policies and procedures to ensure excellent customer service is provided and to maximize the P&L performance of the store.5. Ensure the appearance of the store is pleasing to the customer and meets the requirements of the corporate office.6. Ensure the store opens and closes at the appropriate time.7. Ensure the proper procedures are followed for cash transactions and bank deposits.8. Interact with vendors to order ad, seasonal, and basic merchandise and ice cream (where applicable) for the store.9. Ensure all merchandise is set up according to plan-o-grams received from the corporate office.10. Execute weekly sales ads and price changes.11. Process recalled, damaged, outdated, and transferred merchandise.12. Receive merchandise deliveries from vendors and Rite Aid distribution centers.13. Verify vendor invoice information is accurate and enter it into the accounts payable system.14. Prepare the retail store for physical inventory by ensuring merchandise on the sales floor and in the stock room is in order and easy to access.15. Analyze operating reports and make recommendations for improvement.16. Utilize Staffworks® software to complete the associate work schedule.17. Remain knowledgeable of the One-Hour Photo department and film processing, if applicable.18. Assist the Pharmacy department when there is a high volume of customers.19. Request store maintenance when required.20. Assist with the general maintenance of the store, both inside and outside.21. Enforce all fire and safety rules and regulations set by the company and governmental agencies.22.
