The Human Resources Manager reports to the Area HR Business Partner and ensures successful performance of HR functions in the Charleston, SC market stores (3). Exercises discretion to ensure accomplishment of Division HR objectives.
Essential Functions:
Recruiting
Support human resources activities at the store level through recruiting, training, effective on-boarding, coaching, counseling, resolving problems and change management.
Setup visually appealing and attractive recruiting collateral within stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463).
Conduct weekly/monthly job fairs to achieve and maintain staffing levels within stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463).
Conduct Quarterly Charleston Market Job Fairs
Utilize social media avenues to attract and communicate with prospective applicants on a daily basis
Talent Management
Work with business leaders to assess associate potential for future roles and responsibilities. Communicating career paths within the organization to develop future leaders.
Build a talent pipeline for stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463), leveraging recruiting tools and succession planning.
Communicate and provide weekly updates to the Regional Vice President (RVP) and Area HR Business Partner/Regional HR Business Partner on any issues or opportunities within the region.
Leader Development
Coordinate interview process, job offers and comprehensive on-boarding for store management and HR team within stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463).
Support new company initiatives through training and follow up within stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463).
Training HR team on HR systems and procedures (Indeed, Workday, Reflexis)
Performance Support
Ensure stores are completing orientations and on-going training to develop skills necessary to be successful in the job.
Identify HR needs in the store and drive the solution
Meet company and staffing expectations by utilizing all company tools.
Develop strong working relationships with store management and regional partners.
Associate Relations
Enforce Belk's open door policy.
Produce documentation for EEOC, NRLB, Department of Labor and any state organization charges against the company.
Manage and monitor stores to ensure compliance with all Federal laws and Belk policies.
Culture/Retention
Support culture strategy to reduce turnover and positively impact the associate experience within stores in Charleston market (74, 202, 463).
Embrace, support and motivate others through change by supporting new company initiatives, processes, policies and procedures through collaboration, building customer loyalty and confidence.
Effectively communicate priorities and initiatives, maintain a high degree of confidentiality, have a high level of business acumen, strong presentation skills and the ability to maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Ensure stores execute chat sessions. Follow up and take action on feedback as needed.

Education / Experience Requirements:
Position Contribution Level : Advanced Level
Minimum Education & Experience:
Four-year college degree.
HR Management Experience
2 Years recruiting experience
Experience in retail management
Excellent leadership, supervisory, analytical and reasoning skills
Preferred Education & Experience:
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Proficient in computer business-related computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to use computer keyboard, standard telephone and other related business equipment
Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time
Ability to work at a safe and steady pace
