Primary Job Function:
This position leads a team of supervisors for both morning and evening shifts to achieve department goals and continuous improvement for safety, quality, throughput, up-time, scrap reduction, 5S and incorporating lean manufacturing principles. The Product Manager drives all operational activities to achieve on-time delivery while meeting quality assurance requirements. In addition, the Production Manager is the keeper of the VOP Culture for the plant and conveys its principals and concepts through daily interactions with the hourly and salary team.
Ensures safety training and procedures are conducted and enforced, including but not limited to LO/TO, PPE, forklift and hearing tests.
Manages team members by establishing effective lines of communication while improving performance.
Leads in safety throughout the plant including the conducting of safety meetings and other safety initiatives.
Handles the day-to-day union issues and maintain a constructive union / management relationship.
Directs weekly union meetings.
Maintains labor levels appropriate to cover product demand. That would include but not be limited to: hiring, firing, coaching and training the hourly workforce.
Helps lead the continuous improvement culture by planning, tracking and implementing improvement projects. All decisions must be based on and substantiated by data.

Previous Managerial/Supervisor Experience
Plant Floor Experience
Must have strong interpersonal and management skills with a record of making sound decisions, working with others, building and leading teams.
