Raytheon Technologies' Human Resources Leadership Development Program (HRLDP) internship engages participants in a challenging 3-month assignment focused on building HR functional knowledge, business acumen and leadership skills while obtaining broad exposure to numerous HR functions.

The internship is designed to engage participants in meaningful work that is directly connected to meeting business objectives. Interns will work collaboratively across HR functions and teams to provide high-impact HR solutions and partner with managers to execute critical HR processes that enable business success.

The HRLDP internship offers a comprehensive onboarding and peer mentoring program along with formal and just-in-time learning and development. Interns will also be coached on how to establish trusted relationships with their stakeholders through collaboration, effective communication and partnering skills.

Throughout the duration of the internship, HRLDP interns will have the opportunity to work with their geographically dispersed intern cohort on a project sponsored by HR leadership.

Internship locations will be based across the contiguous United States.

Education / Qualifications:

Selection for the Human Resources Leadership Development Program internship will be based on the following minimum criteria:

  • Candidate must be positioned to obtain their MS/MA/MBA with emphasis and in Human Resources, Organizational Performance, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Industrial and Labor Relations, Organizational Behavior, or other HR related field between December 2021 and June 2022

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Flexibility and mobility to travel/live anywhere in the US and possibly abroad

  • Proactive and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast paced and dynamic environment


This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. 170080

The Lead Human Resources Specialist R&P will be responsible for ensuring the goals and objectives of the VISN Staffing Shared Services are integrated into team strategy and executed accordingly. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities This position is for the Lead HR Specialist on the Title 5, Title 38-Physician, Title 38 Nurse or Hybrid Teams under the Shared Staffing Unit. Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. Lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product. Train or arrange for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects and provide or arrange for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team task. Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met. Responsible for the reviewing and processing of all Personal Action Requests (PARs) for assigned team or teams. The lead will review incoming PARs for technical accuracy as well as for completeness, appropriateness, and compliance with VA, OPM, and other Federal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Actions requiring correction will be returned the HR employee who generated it, and a determination will be made if the action was reckless (i.e., taken without regard to appropriateness, or obviously out of compliance from rules, regulations etc.) and make recommendations to the supervisor of the Shared Services Unit on appropriate action to take. If the action has minor errors, the Lead Specialist will assist the employee in understanding the issue and document any planned or just in time training (JIT).
